Waterbury Dog Pound Adoptable Dogs

This weekend I had the pleasure of going to the Waterbury Dog Pound to photograph some of their adoptable dogs. This was my first visit to the shelter, and to Waterbury. My friend Sara mentioned to me that they needed some help with their photography, and we were able to get in contact with them and set up a time to go. Amy at A Dog’s Life graciously donated some treats for the dogs, and I packed up my gear, and every toy I could find and we set off to the shelter! Thanks to the staff there for being so welcoming and helpful, and thanks for Sara for being my dog wrangler and treat-giver-outer 🙂

You can find the Petfinder profiles of these dogs here.

Major: A very sweet female who is gorgeous! She will take your breath away!  Sara and I loved her immediately!  You can see so much in those eyes!

Ron: Stocky lug of a guy and a real sweetie. He sat and posed nicely for us!

This guy looks great in a tie, and loves the snow!

I didn’t get this one’s name but I would call him a big ole Sweetie! He is beautiful and seemed very calm and well mannered for us.

This is Jane. We started telling her about how wonderful her new family would be and she looked up and smiled 😀 Then Sara told a joke and she laughed and laughed! 😛

Miss Fenelia, a gorgeous little girl with one ear up, one ear down!  She seems like a sweet girl, and for some unknown reason has been at the shelter for a little while.  I hope someone is able to snatch this girl up and give her a home she deserves.

How is this face in a shelter! Loved her!

These two are brand new to the shelter and do not yet have Petfinder profiles. They will be available after their quarantine period.

If you know someone who is looking to expand their family, please share these photos with them!

If you are in the Waterbury area and can volunteer your time at the shelter to help these animals, please contact the shelter!  They are in desperate need of more volunteers.  Especially those with photography skills as I am an hour away from the shelter.  Someone closer who could volunteer more regularly would be so much more beneficial to the dogs.  If you are interested in photographing shelter dogs, but do not have the experience I would be happy to help you learn more about how I do it.
