Madison Neighbors Magazine February is the Walz Family!

Chip and Erin have a great story, both naval officers who met in the Naval Academy. Chip’s family goes back generations in Madison, mostly residing in Madison in summers and working in NYC although now all living here full time.  His grandmother was a famous fashion designer during the great depression…she had a summer home in Madison and met her husband, who was from here. 

Chip works as an investment banker originally on Wall street (Merrill Lynch) to Main St, Madison at Morgan Stanley. Erin works in Chemistry Dept. at Yale. They are both highly educated and decorated military personnel. Erin actually received the Combat Action Ribbon and the prestigious Bronze Star for her service in Iraq.

They are a very active family. All runners, even the kids. They run in marathons and run on the beach, as well as enjoy biking, walking on the beach, hiking at Chatfield Hollow and Hammonassett. Mostly, they love the beach and all love swimming. Chip loves that his office, his home and his son’s school are all within 2 miles from each other, so his kids visit often and play with their toys while he works at his desk.
