Finding the Light-Professional Photographer in CT

”Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.” – George Eastman

“In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.” – Aaron Rose

“I am forever chasing light. Light turns the ordinary into the magical.” – Trent Parke

I whole-heartedly agree with each of these quotes! The light is so, so important! As a natural light photographer, I am a tad obsessed with the light! I watch the weather for days before a shoot, and I scout out locations to determine exactly where my subjects should be at exactly what time of day for the best light. My job is to photograph my subjects as beautifully as I possibly can, so I must know how to handle the light! Each lighting condition from foggy, to bright sun presents a different challenge and a different opportunity.

These photos were taken just moments apart:

Tucker didn’t move, I did, very slightly. In the bottom photo I let the gorgeous golden sunset light come into the lens, in the top one I did not.

This photo was just a minute later, about ten feet away from the first location. The light didn’t change THAT much, but how I positioned myself and my subject left me with a very different photograph. At this time of day, during the golden hour, the light can drastically change in minutes, but here the photos were taken very close together.
