Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue

This is one of  my favorite organizations.  I stumbled upon them when I was looking to foster a lab and I am so glad I did!  The volunteers they have are amazing – and so are their dogs!  A little about STLRR:

Each year Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue (STLRR) continues to advance the cause of homeless Labrador Retrievers in the Southeast Texas region. STLRR, the first reputable Lab rescue organization serving the Houston area, was founded in 2004 in response to the dramatic reality that, in our geographical region, every week 30 to 40 Labradors are lost or abandoned and are at danger to be euthanized in high-kill animal control facilities. We rescue between 100 and 130 Labradors per year with the commitment to do everything possible for them to have the best second chance in life. For each Lab in our program, we provide vaccinations, registered nationwide micro-chipping, neutering/spaying, and any other necessary veterinarian care, including heartworm treatment.

STLRR is not a shelter, but rather operates out of private foster homes, which we never have enough. We are a non-profit, solely volunteer based organization and all the funds obtained through donations, yearly fund-raising campaigns and adoption’s fees are entirely utilized for the well-being of our rescued Labs.

If you are in the Houston area and can volunteer to help out this awesome group, please do so!  You won’t regret it!
