Keira, a GSD Puppy – Clinton CT Dog Photographer
I am more than a little excited to introduce you to Keira, a Fidelco GSD puppy being raised by Jade of Polite Paws, LLC here in Clinton CT. They were approved as “puppy raisers” just before Christmas and I have been dying to get my hands – err – lens on this one ever since! She almost doubled in weight and that one flop ear had almost straightened by the time we were able to meet up for our photo session. Keira is destined for great things, she currently attends weekly sessions with her litter mates at the Fidelco headquarters in Bloomfield CT. She will go into the guide dog training program at around 14 months, and training usually last between 6 to 9 months. What an amazing thing to be a puppy raiser!
We started up at one of the main buildings at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Connecticut. I loved the lines of the railings and her expression here!
This time of year the dogs are allowed on the boardwalks, and even out on the beach! Here she is on the boardwalk 🙂 I love the long shadows from the late time of day and the low winter sun.
I can’t get over how gorgeous this girl is!
I had to try to highlight what she had going on with her ears! I understand in the short time since we had this session, her ears have straightened. Puppy hood goes so fast and I’m so glad we were able to capture them!
Look at that sandy nose! Cutest thing ever!
On the way back up from the beach I stopped at a spot that is quickly becoming one of my favorite locations. I photographed Tucker in this spot almost a year ago, and I love the light here:
Back up in the fields we played with the ball, and of course she kept watch of everything going on:
Back where we started to finish up this lovely session:
Thank you Keira for spending the afternoon with me. I hope to see you again soon!
